Believe Behavioral Health, located at 402 Broadway St. in Port Lavaca, now offers services in Calhoun County. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
âBelieve Behavioral Health provides personalized treatment to children, adolescents and adults through case management, rehabilitation skills training and psychotherapy,â said owner and co-founder Justin Alexander. âWith our services, family units and educators should see a decrease in combative / explosive behavior, school absenteeism and poor situational navigation. Our services increase an individual’s ability to function in difficult emotional and professional environments.
Psychotherapy is available for individuals, couples, and families. Psychotherapy is a powerful personal process that can help children, adolescents, and adults overcome difficult emotional experiences, a variety of mental health issues, and difficult conditions in life.
âOur care is provided by Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs). Often misunderstood, psychotherapy is not just about giving advice or telling our clients how to live. On the contrary, psychotherapy is a business that can bring about positive changes in the way you see yourself and interact with yourself, others, and your existence. Therapy is available for individuals, couples and families, âAlexander said.
Care begins with an initial assessment to explore current issues, stressors and symptoms as well as the unique biological, psychological and social factors that led to your appointment. This first visit is also the base from which the therapeutic relationship will serve as a vector for your growth.
Armed with the information from this assessment, you and your therapist will work together to develop a personalized plan of care that includes your therapy goals and strategies to help you achieve desired results. The frequency of visits with your therapist will depend on your individualized needs and are usually done in the office; however, home visits may be available for certain situations.
BBH Therapists are fully accredited as LCSW and LPC in the State of Texas and can infuse components of a variety of treatment methods into your care, such as:
Emotionally focused therapy
Dynamic support therapy
Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy
Cognitive process therapy
Prolonged exposure therapy
Integrated existential-humanist therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Body-mind practices (spirituality, meditation, relaxation, etc.)
Case management and rehabilitation training is implemented with children, adolescents and adults for a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges that interfere with an individual’s ability to function in school, at home, at work and in interpersonal relationships. Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) can provide CM and ST in an office, school, home and / or community setting. The support process is initiated by an assessment to explore current issues and strengths using the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) tool or the Needs and Needs Assessment. adult strengths (ANSA). Using these instruments, the QMHP and the client develop an integrated care plan to meet the needs and use the strengths discovered during the assessment phase. QMHPs work closely with the individual, family, schools and community to help our clients achieve their individual and family goals. QMHPs also help our clients navigate environments and advocate for their interests at school meetings, teacher conferences, medical appointments, and / or accessing a variety of community resources. QMHPs hold at least a bachelor’s and / or master’s degree in a field of human services. Additionally, QMHPs are trained in rehabilitation services, must pass certifications to complete assessments, and are clinically supervised by licensed personnel.
Clinical assessments include diagnostic assessment, bio-psycho-social factors and history, and the use of specialized tools to explore strengths and needs. Your first visit to Believe will be with a certified member of our team who will perform a comprehensive diagnostic assessment including current issues, recent stressors, functional difficulties and strengths. On this first visit, we’ll also go over the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to your unique challenges. Based on these initial assessments, our clinicians can recommend targeted case management, rehabilitation skills training, psychotherapy, and / or connect you with other helpful resources such as psychiatric care.
âIf targeted case management and rehabilitation training is recommended from this initial assessment, a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) will be assigned to work with you and use an evidence-based tool to specifically address your needs. your needs and your strengths. Using the data gleaned from these tools and the intake assessment, you will partner with QMHP to develop an individualized care plan, âsaid Alexander. âIf psychotherapy is recommended from this initial assessment, you and your therapist will begin to develop initial treatment goals and plans to achieve them with a plan of care. While care plans may seem like just another step in the treatment process, doing so allows us to be heard, to bring together and deepen our emotions, to clarify our hopes and dreams, and to to be known to another. We accept referrals from psychologists, CPS (child protection services) and other registries.
