BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) – Caravel Autism Health has several clinics spanning six states designed to help children with special needs, which includes a location in Rockford.
But the newest caravelle addition to Beloit… eases the burden on 15 clients who previously traveled to Janesville for the same care.
“We need to be able to bring services into our families’ backyards. They travel long distances and have to work very hard to obtain these services. It’s not fair to them and we need to be able to give them more access to that,” says Dashi Ramadani, clinical director at Beloit.
Autism specialists work one-on-one with each client to help them build confidence and connect with others through applied behavior analysis therapy. A key tool for success in life and in the classroom.
“People don’t have to walk around homes and kind of waste those hours during the day when we can serve all day every day,” says Kim Wunschel, Janesville’s clinical director.
Clinical directors say watching clients learn and grow is remarkable.
“It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever experienced in my life. And I think any clinician here can say the same thing. It is a priority for us. We are very customer-focused. And our customers mean everything to us,” says Ramadani.
“It’s always been a dream of mine and a passion is to be able to have a center for kids to come in and get really structured intensive individual therapy, so it’s going to be amazing to watch us continue to grow,” says Wunschel.
Managers say they have a full waiting list of interested customers and want to create more space for them.
