Meet the expert speaker:

John Piacentini, Ph.D., is a board-certified clinical child and adolescent psychologist and professor at UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. He leads the UCLA Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Clinic and Tourette Association Center of Excellencewho provide diagnostic assessment and treatment (both therapeutic and medication) to children and adolescents with these conditions.

He also directs the UCLA Center for Children’s Resilience, Education and Anxiety Support (CARES)which provides training and programs for parents, teachers and clinicians on anxiety prevention and management.

Dr. Piacentini’s research focuses on developing and testing effective treatments for OCD, anxiety, tics and repetitive body disorders in young people. He has played a leading role in several major studies on the treatment of these disorders and has published over 300 scientific articles and chapters and nine books.
